Qualified Candidates Must:

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: At the YMCA, we do not turn anyone away due to an inability to pay. The Y is a non-profit charitable organization that strengthens the foundations of our community. Thanks to donations to the Y's Annual Campaign, we can offer financial assistance to those unable to pay the standard fees.*

Anyone is invited to apply for an income-based YMCA membership or financial assistance. Those receiving income-based memberships are also eligible to receive discounted rates for programming, including camp!

OTHER CAMP INFO: Camp UMLY, located in Berwyn at the Upper Main Line YMCA provides campers who are preschool age through 8th grade with a summer they'll never forget. Campers have an opportunity to make friends and participate in a variety of camp activities including: arts & crafts, sports, free swim, field games, environmental and nature programming, community service and weekly themed activities.

Camp UMLY runs for 13 weeks from May 31 through August 26 and registration for camp is done by the week to allow families flexibility to select camp weeks that work for them. Camp UMLY also runs specialty camps including: sports, tennis, STEM, nature, woodshop, animal care, art, dance, theater and more. Camp runs from 9 AM - 4 PM each day, aftercare is included in the price of camp. Before care is available for a nominal fee. Half day camp options are available for specific programs. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership is the backbone to our program. To us, Leadership looks different for everyone. By building relationships, practicing open and honest communication, and empowered decision making. Our community values self-expression, compassion, cooperative leadership, and living joyfully.

Throughout every aspect of our program, campers and staff develop lifelong friends, indelible memories, and tangible skills. We grow leaders each summer who make lasting impacts on their communities, families, and the world.

Two aspects of our program that specifically are designed for intentional communication, empowered decision making, and relationship building include Crew and Group. Crew is the daily "chores" group that every camper participates in. This is anything from cooking breakfast, to cleaning the stalls and feeding the horses, to taking out the trash and recycling around camp. We do hard work, and then we get to play! Group is our evening program that is defined as "the part of Longacre that makes us unique". This is an intentionally facilitated communication workshop for all of our campers and staff. This is where we use communication tools and skills to better understand ourselves, others, and how we interact with the world.

Longacre Leadership Camp is a residential, co-ed summer camp located in Central Pennsylvania for students aged 8 - 18. We are located on a 114 acre farm 40 minutes north of Harrisburg and will be enjoying our 44th summer this year. Position dates are from June 14th - August 15th 2018.

We hire camp counselors, AKA Big Kids aged 21 and over who are passionate about working with young people and who are committed to building a community. We are looking for staff with a range of skills and expertise including, carpentry, horse riding, arts and crafts, animal husbandry, outdoor education and organic gardening. This position is a blend of farm work and youth work.

CAMP FACILITIES: The program is facilitated indoors and outdoors of Rose Playground. Teenagers In Charge is youth driven and any/all program activities are planned, coordinated and facilitated by those who are actively involved in the organization.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Teenagers In Charge is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1995 for and about teens and tweens (10-17 years old) whose mission is to help them build their self-esteem, heighten their cultural and community awareness while teaching them how to take charge of their lives. The sessions are theme based and activities are centered around the themes each month.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Teenagers In Charge is facilitated every Saturday morning excluding holidays and inclement weather. The program is for and about teens and tweens (10-17) with a youth agenda. We are a very active summer community and do a good job of getting campers excited about all aspects of camp from our adventure and sport activities to going roller skating to going white water rafting together as a group. As with many aspects of teenagers lives our camp is also a very social place and we work hard to model and encourage positive relationships, create community in an authentic way, stop cliques from developing, and take away many of the traditional pressures that teens feel in school. CAMP FACILITIES: We have a modern dorm and two modern longhouse facilities, as well as two more rustic dorms. We have a large Dining Hall facility, and a brand new Children's Ministry Building (fit for indoor sports and recreation, as well as meeting places). Additionally, the camp has 200 privately owned cottages, three large RV lots, a large soccer field and baseball field, disc golf and mini golf courses, basketball courts, volleyball courts, and a gaga ball pit. There are two tabernacles, the Main Tabernacle and Youth Tabernacle, for services. The Susquehanna River serves as a great place for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and tubing.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Mahaffey Camp offers a variety of programs, from summer youth camps and family camp to year-long retreats and events. Our staff is a dedicated group of people who are passionate about serving campers of all ages and leading them to a vibrant experience with God. Our mission is "to reach others with the Gospel and teach them about the Lord." Mahaffey Camp aims to be "A Christian Center for Spiritual Growth." Mahaffey Camp is a member of the Christian Camp and Conference Association.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Those who wish to be considered as Counselors or Jr. Counselors should contact the camp office promptly, as available positions fill up quickly. Counselors and Jr. Counselors are required to attend a mandatory Counselor Training weekend, held at the end of May or beginning of June. Teen Counselors and Jr. Counselors are expected to attend a youth camp of their own age group.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: For scholarship assistance, please contact the camp office. We have a scholarship fund that is used to help sponsor campers who are experiencing financial hardship and need assistance to be able to attend camp.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Mahaffey Family Camp takes place during the last full week of July every year; in 2018, the dates are July 20 through 29. Events and services are offered for all age groups throughout the 10 days. Special events include a 5k race, Motorcycle Rally, Missionary Rally, Women's Day, Children's Penny Parade, Baptismal Service, and Gospel Concert. The camp store and Dining Hall are open for meals every day, and the craft store (selling merchandise and handmade crafts to benefit camp) is open daily. Dorm Accommodations are available, as well as RV and tent sites. Different types of services are offered, including Adult morning and evening services, prayer and healing services, Teen morning and evening services, Children's ministries, and Fresh Breeze afternoon service.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Youth Camps are held in the summer, while many retreats are held throughout the rest of the year. Mahaffey offers a variety of different retreats and events, including Applefest, Quilt Retreats, Scrapbook Retreats, Men's Link, Prayer Retreat, Mother / Daughter Retreat, REPLENISH (youth winter retreat), and private horsemanship lessons. Located on Camp Kweebec’s 200+ acres in Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, Summer L.I.F.E. offers campers with special needs the opportunity to cultivate friendships within the context of traditional camp activities, such as fishing, swimming, boating, arts and crafts, sports and games, cooking and environmental education.

Transportation for the day camp is provided to and from our Malvern campus and the camp property in Schwenksville. Families also may choose to drop off and pick up their campers at Camp Kweebec daily.

Families of overnight campers are responsible for transportation to the camp property on Sundays. Families may choose to pick overnight campers up at the camp property or at our Malvern, Pennsylvania campus on Fridays.

Summer L.I.F.E. offers low camper-to-staff ratio, experienced camp staff, ongoing behavior support, structured daily programming, engaging activities and real world learning. Staff includes PA certified special education teachers, a full-time nurse and behavioral support specialists.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Being a CIT at YMCA Camp Soles gives you a unique training opportunity that will serve you well should you ever desire to return as a camp counselor, work in day care or after-school programs, or become a coach or mentor for younger kids. Our CIT program is specifically designed for teens who are interested in working with kids. We teach critical counseling skills, behavior management, and instruction techniques.

Being a CIT is about learning practical skills that you will hone at camp. For example, you will work with our staff as assistant instructors in the various program areas across Camp Soles. You will also be assigned a cabin to help with everything from running activities to working with homesick campers. Camp is after all about learning through positive relationships and our counselors are role models for our CITs as much as they are for campers.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: At the Y, no child or family is turned away due to inability to pay. That holds true at YMCA camps as well. Realizing that different families have different abilities to pay, we created a three tier pricing program. Based on an honor system, your family chooses which tier you can afford. Here you may choose from dedicated session of study in vocal performance, symphony orchestra, dance and theater, along with several visual arts courses. Camp SAY was established with one goal in mind – to provide children who stutter with a highly immersive and accepting summer camp experience that builds self-confidence and helps children develop the vital communication skills they need to fully express themselves without fear, bullying or ridicule.

Complementing our wide range of exciting traditional camp activities, Camp SAY provides each child with unique experiences that challenge them in a safe way, creating a strong sense of achievement and helping them confidently navigate the unique issues that children who stutter face in the everyday world.

STAFF
The staff is dedicated to creating a safe and accepting environment where every child can find their beautiful and unique voice. Approximately 80% of children return to camp. Parents and campers tell us it’s our staff and unique approach that consistently exceed expectations, making Camp SAY such a rewarding and transformative experience.

We provide an excellent Staff-to-Camper Ratio: With Camp’s leadership team, camp counselors, specialized activities staff and more, our staff-to-camper ratio is 1 staff member for every 2-3 campers. In addition, each bunk is staffed at night with at least 2 counselors for an average of 6-10 campers.

Counselors complete a comprehensive training program to support the social, emotional and physical needs of all our campers. Staff development includes leadership training and extensive information about stuttering, camper health and safety, camp philosophy, policies and procedures and much more. Additionally, Specialized Activities Staff is carefully selected based on their skills and expertise.

Talented Nursing Team: Your child’s safety and well being is our highest priority. Our camp is staffed by a full-time, on-site registered nurse who can properly dispense any family-provided medications and can access medical specialists as needed.

Traveling to Camp SAY: Campers come from all around the country and abroad. We work closely with families to make each child’s trip to Camp SAY as safe and enjoyable as possible. We schedule a chaperoned flight from the southeast to New York City. Children taking individual flights are welcomed at the gate by camp staff. Upon arrival at the airport, camp staff helps navigate baggage claim, arrange check-in for return flights, and board campers on the bus for a fun trip to Camp SAY.

Our Personalized Approach: In order to fully personalize your child’s camp experience, our team obtains detailed preferences in advance of camp from you and your child – from their activities to seemingly small yet important details. HCA’s Adventurers’ Camp kicks into high gear on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons! Each week a special project will expose our campers to a new skill and expand their horizons. One week they might be cooking for the homeless, the next week they might be learning Carpentry 101! No matter what, our goal is to make sure that they have fun.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our 336 wooded acres provide hiking opportunities, outdoor chapels, playing fields, volleyball and basketball courts, ropes course and a swimming pool.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Every week at Nawakwa (weather permitting) begins and ends with worship at one of our beautiful outdoor worship areas; Upper Temple, Fischer Chapel or Bishop Chapel. Community living takes place everyday through Bible Study, worship, recreation, crafts, and nature study.

Our caring staff is here to guide children as they explore God's creation and their relationship in it. Campers are given the opportunity to choose how part of their week will go. Being part of a Lutheran Christian community has helped many campers grow - in their personal faith, in their self-confidence, and in their interactions with others.

CAMP FACILITIES: Summit has approx. 30 traditional wooden cabins with electric and private facilities in each cabin. Our main buildings include our newly refinished dining hall, air-conditioned recreational hall, our medical facility, and a newly built outdoor pavilion. Summit utilizes three A frame buildings for our arts programs, a wilderness treehouse with camp fire area for cookouts, newly resurfaced basketball/tennis courts, high/low ropes course with climbing wall, heated pool, private lake, nature fields with a farm area, martial arts dojo, go-kart track with 3 karts. Summit has a small amphitheatre adjacent to our lake, with a miraculous view of our beautiful setting where we enjoy swimming, canoeing, and riding our banana boats. Our camp resides on a gently rising hillside, thus providing us with the physical basis for our motto, "The Magic on the Hill."

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summit Camp is a co-ed sleepaway camp for ages 8-19 years with issues of attention: AD/HD, HFA/Asperger’s Disorder, and/or learning differences. Using the frame of a traditional sleepaway camp, we create platforms of success where our campers can experience outcomes such as improved self-esteem, lasting friendships, and increased independence. This is accomplished through a well-orchestrated and expertly staffed backdrop to a largely traditional camp experience- guided challenges, waterfront, adventure course, and more. It is our goal and desire to take our campers from observing peer interactions to engaging in them, to learn and celebrate their own strengths and successes, and to feel a sense of belonging and shared community with those around them while they are with us.

Our Teen Travel program extends the Summit community to provide a safe yet exciting adventure to one of our many attractive national and international destination tours offering 14 day and 19 day excursions. Summit Weekenders provide a youth-group style social retreat for adolescents to have an oasis of independence, enjoyment, and success during the school year months. Regardless of the specific program, Summit provides an expertly staffed, highly structured, and truly fun experience for our youth, and has been doing so since 1969. Summit is accredited by the American Camp Association and takes pride in our long term commitment to and successes in working with special needs youth.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our Transitions to Adult Living Skills program for youth aged 15-19 provides learning and vocational opportunities for our teens. We also have vocational programs for upper camp including, big brother/big sister, waiter/waitressing, working in a specialty area or as UL assistant, photography, and more. Our SUPER TEEN program focuses on building the executive function and daily living skills OUR kids needs to succeed as independently as possible.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Summit provides weekender programs in metropolitan areas throughout the country which run from Friday evening until Sunday mid-day that provide an oasis of social involvement for our youth. NY/NJ and DC/VA weekenders meet on a monthly basis.

Camp Winnipeg runs for 11 weeks from June 13 through August 26 and registration for camp is done by the week to allow families flexibility to select camp weeks that work for them. CAMP FACILITIES: Conshatawba is a Resident Camp that specializes in The Arts and Adventure. We have a ceramics and pottery program, arts and craft building, theater stage,pool, climbing rock wall and zip line, low ropes course, archery field and numerous sports fields. Conshatawba has beautiful lodges, platform tents, and cabins for lodging.Girls attend themed weeks of camp throughout the summer with this year's most popular sessions being a Percy Jackson session and a Hunger Games themed session. Conshatawba offers resident camping for girls ages 8-17 as well as family sessions.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Conshatawba has adventure programming specializing in backpacking trips. Conshatawba offers a 4 sided climbing tower and zipline. Conshatawba also focuses on the arts with an indoor theater and arts studio.

Our camps are staffed with activity specialists, a cook, a health supervisor and specialty staff for adventure programs. Staff members are carefully selected for their skills as well as how they work with children and adults. They participate in weeklong training sessions where they earn appropriate certifications. Camp Conshatawba offers programming for Girl Scouts to build girls of confidence, courage and character.

CAMP FACILITIES: One in-person camp will be held at the Georgetown Public Library in July 2025, located in Sussex County, DE.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Beginner coding skills are taught helping children learn sequencing and terms that grown up coders use everyday to create video games and more. Math and Science activities engage your child in learning and our ARTS program helps students understand how computer artists work in the field.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Theatre Camp is the hallmark of Yes! And… Collaborative Arts Imagination Programming. We have been running these camps for over 15 years!

Yes! And… Collaborative Arts offers exciting, creative and transformative summer experiences for young people grades K-12. No previous theatre experience? No problem! Does your child not like to be in front of a group? No problem! Our programs dig into each child's imagination and awaken a sense of play and wonder. We explore dance, acting, music, visual arts and more in order to teach collaboration, working as a group, and building on each other's strengths.

Every camp culminates in an original performance. We can't tell you what they are, because your child is part of the writing and creating process! We can tell you that these showcases are exciting, celebratory, and always an adventure. Our Imagination Camps usually showcase on Friday at 3:30pm, after their day is done. Our Theatre Camps will usually showcase at the end of each week, also at 3:30pm. After either their 2 or 3 week thematic unit is done, they will put on a larger show on the Friday at 6pm. (Kids stay after camp for rehearsal and pizza!)

Yes! And... Collaborative Arts hand picks an incredible team of artists and educators each summer. Artist teachers prepare classes in acting, movement, visual arts and storytelling while Travelers are on hand to guide each tribe of kids throughout the day. High school students from our SHADOW Co. are also a part of the tribes as Junior Travelers. Staff hired by Yes! And... Collaborative Arts have trained in our Collaborative Arts Institute and have proper and up-to-date copies of child abuse and criminal record background checks. We retain many of our staff from previous years, so your child will get to know their favorites!

What happens when you put Goldilocks, Peter Pan, Rapunzel, and the Wicked Witch into a blender and turn it on? Probably a huge mess! Join us as we make and untangle these meeses by looking at old stories and creating something new. No story is safe in this fun camp session!

To be or not to be… but we want you “to be” here to join us as we jump into Shakespeare! This one week intensive will focus on classical Shakespeare and the techniques and skills used to execute the classics. This week will end with a rousing olde-tyme showcase!

Get ready to move! Work with our talented dance instructors to learn new skills and new dance forms while having TONS of fun. This one week intensive focuses on how we move our bodies and will end with a short showing of our new moves!

Earth, Water, Wind, & Fire - The four elements may seem like complete opposites, but do they actually work together? Are they instead mortal enemies? We will jump into myth creation quick during this 2-week workshop.

CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Sequoia is very fortunate to call The Perkiomen School campus our summer home. Pennsburg is a suburban area approximately a one hour drive northwest of Philadelphia in Montgomery County. The proximity of many educational and recreational activities to Pennsburg make our weekly out of camp trips very convenient.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Perkiomen School offers a wide array of playing fields and outdoor athletic facilities such as tennis and basketball courts. An indoor, competition size swimming pool, multiple gyms and top notch art facilities are just a few of the indoor highlights. When it's time for bed, campers will enjoy the comfort of their bedrooms which feature closets, dressers and desks. Bad weather is no problem at Camp Sequoia thanks to our amazing facilities. This is a great asset to our campers who have trouble with change in schedules.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The LIT program meets the need for young people ages 16-17 who are not yet ready for a summer job and need help developing their social thinking skills, independent skills and job readiness skills. Camp Sequoia's Leader-In-Training program provides a safe and supportive environment for our LIT's to learn and practice these important skills.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our CIT (counselor in training) program is a learning and transition program for 13, 14 and 15 year-olds. A CIT day encompasses work experience, bunk activities including lunch and swimming, as well as sport and recreational periods. CIT's work with both specialist and bunks developing leadership and organizational skills. Daily bunk-time activities include co-ed games, group meetings and discussions, swim and water games, as well as, other recreational opportunities. As the oldest campers, CIT's are rewarded with day trips and after-hours activities supervised by their counselors, division leaders and other staff.

PYC began with a dream and a committed core and over the years through hard work, determination and many miracles, the Lord has blessed us with an amazing facility.

We are looking for workers who are excited to share and live the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ with youth and children.  Counselors, maintainance, kitchen, health officer, and challenge course workers are in need. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Camp Lindenmere’s Leadership Training Program is carefully designed to teach participants both life and camp related skills. The LT’s will participate in all of the traditional Lindenmere camp activities, and will often experience many of these activities in a leadership role.

The program is fun, dynamic and creative while offering the LT’s more freedom and responsibility than other campers. The LT’s have the opportunity to participate in regular camp activities as well as experiential learning activities designed to teach life skills.

As the oldest campers, the LT’s are considered the foundation of the Lindenmere experience. Each participant is considered a valuable part of our community and is eligible to become our future staff and leaders.

OTHER CAMP INFO: How many people in each bunk?
Each bunk houses 8-12 campers with two to three counselors. The cabins are equipped with modern conveniences such as full bath facilities, including hot and cold running water, ample electrical outlets and storage space for clothing.

When do the campers pick their activities?
Majors are chosen before campers arrive at camp. The three minors are chosen at breakfast each morning and may vary from day to day.

Do campers ever get turned away from an activity they choose?
Never. A full time program director spends the day working with each child's schedule.

How many people in each activity?
Sometimes a child chooses a private lesson which is one-on-one with an instructor. Most activities have between eight to twelve children.

How does the laundry work?
Every camper's laundry is done with an outside service and is collected on Friday and returned to the campers on Sunday. The laundry for each cabin is kept together and the children sort their laundry with the aid of their counselors upon its return.

Do you have a doctor in camp?
We have a doctor and three registered nurses during each session. Our infirmary is staffed twenty four hours per day.

Are campers put into bunks by age or grade?
Campers are usually grouped in cabins by grade. Sometimes parents will request a placement by age. If your child wants to bunk with friends, we almost always are able to work it out.
Any out of camp trips?

Children leave camp to compete in intercamp games or special events such as a day trip to Camelbeach, Dorney Park, whitewater rafting, ice skating, bowling, minor league baseball games.

Do campers need extra money?
Canteen is provided free of charge each day. A small amount of spending money is recommended for other incidentals.

Where do campers come from?
All over. We have large groups of children from the New York metropolitan area, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, Florida, and California, but don't be surprised if you have a bunk mate from London, Paris, Madrid or Singapore.
